Driving from Franktown, Colorado to Colorado Springs, Colorado on a sunny day in March 2021. This drives takes us along Colorado State Highway 83 from Franktown to Colorado Springs. This is a rural route that passes through a heavily treed and hilly area of Douglas County and along the eastern border of Castlewood Canyon State Park. It then winds through the Black Forest area. Approaching Colorado Springs Highway 83 becomes Interquest Parkway before merging onto I-25. Through much of the drive, Pikes Peak is visible in the distance.
